But thats assuming that the WTS is the true religion, as we all know the WTS is no better then any other religion, in fact, in many ways they are worst. So there is no real reason why a EX-JW can't go where he likes. It surprises me to read that many who have left the WT still have guilt feelings and are frightened to go to other church's.

Government against the Jehovah's Witnesses ??? hhhhhmmmmmmm !!!!!!!
by run dont walk in.
okay, lets say for the sake of argument, and since they predict it anyways, if the governments of canada, usa, uk, etc said to the jw's no more religion, how many do you think would cave in to the pressure.
it's obvious to me, most jw's are not that into the religion, for most just a social affair, the real diehards who believe and do all is probaly 25 % or less.. would you or your family cave in to that pressure, or get stronger and say, see the end is near ??
-
Rick Aust
I don't beleive that only 25% are diehard JW's. As far as you saying that for most it is just a social affair, it was never much of a social affair to start with, you get alot more social affaris outside the JW's. I beleive that everyone who is still in it still believes its that truth no matter how unhappy thay are, if they are unhappy then they blame this system or themselves. For most of the JWs, if they GB tells them to jump, they ask "how High?"

Michael Jackson in the news again.....
by DebraDoll inso sad..........arrest warrants were just executed against him for multiple counts of child molestation.
as a mom i am deeply appalled, as an ex witness i am saddened at his lack of power over his own life and ability to move forward, beyond the scarring of an abusive upbringing.

I don't beleive he was abused, He went nuts after the 'Thriller' Album. I think the money and power got to him, no one else in his family agreed with him. With those claims he was just looking for sympthy and pity.

How can they sleep at night???
by doodle-v inhow can members of the governing body sleep at night, when they claim to be the voice of god and so many people put faith in their twisted words?

Please note: and can anyone please confirm this.
I watched a medical program regarding childbirth, the program had nothing to do with the Watchtower or any religious issue, the program clearly said that Whole Blood is passed from the mother to the unborn child, to the point that the doctors can remove some blood samples from the mum and look for the unborn babies blood cells which are mixed in with the mothers.
Firstly. If this is the case, and God allows blood to be shared while unborn, then why not when the baby is born? what if the baby when he is 10yo needs more blood, can't he use his mothers blood? Again?
Secondly. The watchtower has always claimed that the 2 systems, the unborn baby and the mother's blood system are totally seperate, and only some parts of the blood are shared between them, which is one of the grounds that they use to allow some blood components.
This is obivously a false claim and if some "no-body" like me knows the lie that the Watchtower continues to spread to maintain their Theology, then I feel just like you do! "How do they sleep at nights"
If you feel that seeing this program can help you, I am prepared to make a copy and mail it to you. I live in Australia. It is on a PAL VHS format.

Did doctrine matter to you? Does it matter to most dubs now?
by nicolaou inminimus started a great thread a few days ago asking what was "it" that finally made you leave the "truth"?.
the replies showed that, for the most part, it was the unloving, uncaring attitude displayed by most of the 'brothers & sisters' - elders particularly.
some posters even made the point that this lack of love drove them out despite them harbouring fears that they might actually be leaving the truth.

I left because of doctrine. But it was the lack of love that started me to question and look, I found it all on the internet.
Thanks you Internet.

I have a hard time blaming the Watchtower
by spiritwalker in" if the watchtower said it, and the men on the platform preached it, then it must have been true.
so it was very hard to accept as an adult, that they were wrong.
i blame myself.

I can see where your coming from spirtwalker but I don't agree with you.
I wasn't raised as a JW, I come in by the door to door work, based on what I was taught I decided to get batised. But a person can only make a decision based on the information presented to him at the time, only much later did I found out that Charles Russel got 1914 from the pyramids and not from the bible.
As far as the Bible education work that they do, is it education or propaganda? Education teaches you HOW to think Propaganda teaches you WHAT to think. During the Watchtower meetings, we are expected to answer up, to answer in our own words but not our own thoughts so really its not Education its Propaganda.
Their 'Policy' on Blood is also false, I call it a "Policy" I can't call it a "belief" because I am confident that the WTS is aware of the holes in it, but they allow others to die for what the WTS continues to teach them.
In all my years as a JW I never heard of any one rasiing their hands up and saying "I disagree with this paragraph in the Watchtower", we are all expected to just repeat the answer that has being given to us.
If you blame yourself spiritwalker then it only shows what a good job they have done with "mind-control"

Sorry if this is a sad question, but I know of 3 JW's that have suicided. I haven't known any personally, but I was wondered if you know any or know of any JW's that have suiced? and do you know the reason why? how old were they ? I am curious when I consider that the WTS tell the R& F that they are the "happiest people on earth."
thanks people.

I feel you need to understand christinaty fro what it really is in the bible and not the WTS version of christanity.
The WTS is the most jugdemental religion I've ever seen, they are ready to tell us who God will accept and who he won't accept.
How would they know? What gives them the right? Firstly its Jesus who is the Judge not God. "all power has being given to him" also the bible says that if ones dies he is accquitted for his sins. But this seems that all who die who live again, of course the WTS doesn't want us to beleive this because that would mean that we don'ty have to work our way to the kingdom, and by "working" they mean witnessing there theology.
The WTS many times uses's the illustion of a glass of water and a bit of pioson, they apply this to christaindom, but the WTS themselves has given us a glass of water with some pioson in it, you need to filter out the pioson, and then you'll be free just like Jesus said. Being left with nothing won't help you either.

I do understand how you feel. Many times I do think this is the last days , and also the apostle Paul said that everyday we are closer to the end then when we started. But if these are the last days its no thanks to the WTS. If you look at a history of religion there has allways been a man or a group of men that are crying "the end is near", they'er going to right right one day! If I stand in the middle of a desert and claim it will rain tomorrow, I will be right one day. I still beleive the bible and the Kingdom, just not the things that only the WTS teachs, eg the 144,000, the faithfull and distreet slave class, disfellowshipping, all the shunning really is very unchristain, Going door to door and preaching ther theology.
I still go to the KH, I feel its good to get some time to God and if I found a better place I'll go there, I'll probably will one day.
